The Downtown Morristown Association is Morristown's oldest continual running business organization and was formed back in 1882 to represent the interests of the majority of property and business owners in the central business district of Morristown, Tennessee. The Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce was formed in 1911 as the Morristown Board of Trade and we are very proud to be partners with the Chamber. We have been called everything from the Downtown Merchants Association to the Central Morristown Business Association and renamed in 1993 to our current name to ensure everyone is included that would like to participate in our mission. The DMA is a volunteer non-profit organization that is operated by a membership elected Board of Directors. The Board of Directors elect officers in January of each year. We have regular Board meetings and an Annual Membership meeting every February. Mission Statement The mission of the Downtown Morristown Association is to preserve and enhance the Central Morristown District working with the City of Morristown, Hamblen County, and Chamber of Commerce officials. The DMA is a non-profit volunteer based organization chartered in the State of Tennessee. The DMA actively seeks new members and is open to residents and businesses of Morristown, Tennessee. We have an active member base and a special friend of downtown membership (non-voting) designed for those who want to contribute to the exciting changes and events of Downtown. All members, including friends, are encouraged to attend monthly DMA meetings held the first Friday of each month 7:30 am at the Jersey Girl Diner on Main Street |
